AFCON 2027 – South Africa / Bafana Bafana

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, also referred to as AFCON 2027 or CAN 2027, and for sponsorship purposes as the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027, will be the 36th edition of the African football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a biennial tournament. It will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 19 June to 17 July 2027.

This edition of the tournament will be the first to be hosted by three countries, and the first in five decades to be organised in the CECAFA region, since it was hosted by Ethiopia in 1976.

This event is part of the Africa Cup of Nations' 70th anniversary. It will also be the last one to be held in odd-numbered years, as CAF announced in December 2025 that AFCON would become a Quadrennial tournament from 2028 onwards.

Premier League and UK Football

The English Premier League is one of the most popular football competitions in the world and is a major attraction for South African supporters travelling to the UK. SportsTours can arrange travel to selected Premier League fixtures involving clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, subject to fixture availability and ticket arrangements. The experience extends beyond the ninety minutes on the pitch. Visiting the stadium, experiencing match-day atmosphere and seeing English football at close quarters are all part of the attraction. Other major UK competitions, including the FA Cup and EFL Cup, can also provide opportunities for football travel.

European Football

Football travel is not limited to England. Europe offers some of the world's biggest clubs and most important competitions. Depending on fixture availability, football tours can include selected matches in competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, as well as domestic leagues including La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga. For supporters travelling from South Africa, this can provide the opportunity to experience clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Inter Milan in their home cities.

Combine Football with a European Holiday

Why make the football match the whole trip? A football tour can be an opportunity to combine a major sporting event with a holiday in one of Europe's great cities. Spend a few days exploring London and then watch a Premier League match. Visit Madrid and combine the sights of the city with a match at the Santiago Bernabéu. Explore Barcelona around a visit to see FC Barcelona. Or build a longer European holiday around several football matches. SportsTours can help arrange the football and travel elements of the trip, allowing you to combine match tickets, accommodation, flights and other travel arrangements into a trip built around the event. For South African travellers, this can turn a football match into a much bigger experience — the football is the reason for the trip, but the holiday becomes part of the experience.

Follow Your Favourite Club

Football Travel Packages

Every football trip is different. The match, destination, ticket availability and travel requirements all influence the package that can be offered. Depending on the fixture and package selected, SportsTours can assist with arrangements including: * Match tickets * Accommodation * Flights and other travel arrangements * Transfers * Other services associated with the tour Our current football tours and packages are listed below. Price Is Not Everything

Price is naturally important when choosing a football tour, but it is not the only consideration. The cheapest package is not necessarily the best value. The quality and location of the accommodation, the match ticket, flights, transfers and the overall organisation of the trip can all make a significant difference to the experience. At SportsTours, our objective is to provide good value for money, rather than simply offering the lowest price. When you have travelled from South Africa to watch your favourite team play, the value of the complete experience matters.
